Hi I’m Amelia, an Illustrator and Printmaker based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Since graduating in 2024 with a Masters in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, I have enjoyed bringing characters and story ideas to life from my studio surrounded by countryside.

I’ve always been drawn to mischievous characters and all of the imaginative and sometimes hidden details in illustrations that create a deeper understanding of both characters and the worlds they live in. Some would probably say I’ve never fully grown up, as my children’s book collection continues to grow.

Much of my inspiration comes from travel and a love for sketching on location, exploring new landscapes and bringing personal experiences into my illustrations. Sketching has always been an important part of my process, maintaining the same energy and magic of an initial sketch through to the final piece. When I’m not in the studio, I can usually be found drawing somewhere along the Northumberland coastline with a sketchbook and a good hot chocolate.
